Steam controller’s Trackball mode and updated Slots in reWASD 6.2.1

Today we have great news for the users of Steam controller — Trackball mode is finally here, ready to make your in-game camera truly perfect. Steam controller’s trackball adds an automated movement after the physical swipe, which lets you turn freely and never miss anything you see around.

Trackball mode could be used for Right or Left Stick and Mouse mapped to the trackpads of Steam. Also, you will be able to adjust the movement with the Trackball Friction slider. Please note that the slider sets the friction, so the higher you set it, the faster the movement stops. Download the latest release to test it by yourself!

With reWASD 6.2.1, you will see and will be able to manage Slots even when Remap is OFF. Once you turn it ON back, the chosen slot will be recovered. Also, we will restore the previously active remap after you plug the controller back or turn your PC.

If you use a virtual controller in your config, then you will see its icon near the Remap is ON/OFF button — active or not depending on the remap state. Also, we have added a mark to the devices with active remap state, so hopefully, it will be easier to track what happens here.

We have added a few minor things that we are sure you will find useful. In Combo Editor, you will be able to check the Total combo time when you create any in Execute at once mode. In Shortcuts, you will be able to hook controller buttons and keyboard keys. Magic Wand now can switch the virtual controller type and remove all virtual controller mappings with a single click.
